Make Delicious Lemonade with a Blender

Haga deliciosa limonada con una licuadora

Want to make delicious lemonade without having to squeeze the juice out of a lemon?

Then this is the lemonade recipe for you!

By using a blender, you no longer need to squeeze the juice out of a lemonade and you will be able to extract even more juice out of the lemonade when the blender crushes the lemon into pulp.

Nuestro limonero para hacer la limonada perfecta

It’s almost like magic and it is such an easy recipe that I wish I would have thought about it a long time ago.

Especially since we have several lemon trees growing on our property which allows us to make some cold and refreshing lemonade anytime we want!

Here is what you will need to make 2 glasses of lemonade:

Ingredientes para hacer la limonada

2 Lemons or limes

1 to 1.5 cup of ice

1-1.5 cup of water

3 table spoon of sugar

1 Blender

Step 1. Preparing the Lemons

Once you have picked a couple of lemons out of the tree or from the grocery store, you must thoroughly wash them as one of the options to get a more bitter lemonade is to blend the lemonade with some of the rind still on it.

Step 2. Cut the lemons in quarters

Carefully cut the lemon in half and then cut the half in half again.

You actually could just cut the lemons in half but we are cutting the lemon in quarters to shorten the blending time.

Step 3. Cut the ends of the quartered lemon and some of the lemon peel to take away the pith of the lemon which is the thick white stuff.

The pith is very bitter and by cutting away the ends of the quartered lemons, it will take some of the bitterness away.

It is up to you on how much of it you want to cut off.

I personally like my lemonade half sweet and half bitter so I like to leave about 1/4 of the pith on.

Step 4. Mixing the Ingredients in the Blender

Put the ice, the lemon, the water and the sugar in the blender and blend it for at least 60-90 seconds.

The longer you blend it the frothier the lemonade will be.  Once the lemonade is ready it will have a pale yellow/greenish cloudy color.  It is best to serve and enjoy immediately.

To add a twist to the recipe, experiment with the lemonade by adding a mint leaf, or some ginger or even honey.

If it is a hot day outside, replace the water with ice instead to make a delicious granita!
